ATCL Examination Requirements
The ATCL Performance Diploma consists of one practical examination, which may be completed either:
✔️ Face-to-face with a Trinity examiner
OR
✔️ Through an approved digital submission
Candidates prepare:
Two Dramatic Extracts
- From two different published plays
- Must contrast in style and period
- At least one text must have been written after 1950
One Lyric Poem
- A published lyric poem
One Piece of Prose or Narrative Verse
- A published prose extract (fiction or non-fiction) or narrative verse
One Prepared Talk
- A short presentation on a performance-related topic chosen by the candidate
Viva Voce Discussion
- A professional discussion with the examiner exploring performance choices, technical skills, interpretation and artistic approach
