What Are the Requirements?
Trinity College London offers a structured pathway from Grade Initial to Grade 8:
- Grade Initial – Grade 1: Simple poems, short monologues, or brief scenes. Focus on clear speech, confidence, and expression.
- Grades 2 – 4: Longer pieces, including prose and poetry. Students begin to explore characterisation and performance skills.
- Grades 5 – 6: More advanced texts, including Shakespeare, modern drama, and detailed character work.
- Grades 7 – 8: Complex performances requiring strong interpretation, vocal control, and stagecraft. These higher grades demonstrate professional-level ability.
Each grade requires students to prepare set pieces (poetry, prose, or drama extracts), plus some discussion or reflection with the examiner. It’s a balance of performance and understanding — and it’s a lot of fun!
The Joy of Learning Together
One of the most exciting aspects of CrEd E-Theatre is the chance to share the stage with peers worldwide. Imagine rehearsing a Shakespearean soliloquy with someone in London, performing poetry alongside a student in Mumbai, or discussing drama techniques with a learner in Cape Town. It’s not just about gaining a qualification — it’s about building friendships and confidence across borders.
UCAS Points for Grades 6–8
Trinity College London’s Level 3 qualifications (Grades 6–8) are recognised by UCAS, the UK university admissions authority.
| Grade | Distinction | Merit | Pass |
