Meet the Visionaries

Amar Desai’s background in Film, Television, and Media Studies from Curtin University of Technology in Western Australia, combined with his extensive teaching experience in Drama and Performing Arts, makes him an exceptional leader in creative education. In 2019, Amar was honoured with the prestigious Business Daily’s Top 40 under 40 Men in Kenya award for his remarkable contributions to the arts industry. With a passion for the performing arts, Amar has worked on notable film sets, including his involvement in The Constant Gardener.

Jinita Desai, on the other hand, brings a unique blend of expertise to the table. As an ACCA member and an Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) from the Chartered Insurance Institute, Jinita’s financial acumen is balanced by her educational background in Maths, Economics, and Statistics from the University of Warwick in the UK. Jinita believes in the power of drama, musical theatre, and performing arts to foster storytelling, build confidence, enhance effective communication, and address societal issues in a safe theatre space.

Unleashing Creativity through Drama and Musical Theatre

Under the umbrella of Aperture Africa Productions Ltd, Amar and Jinita have created a space for artistic excellence. Their award-winning theatre production house has left an indelible mark on the Kenyan theatre scene. Through their partnership with Creative Education International, they have brought the renowned drama and musical theatre curriculum to Kenya, aiming to develop essential life skills, foster creativity, and build confidence through various performing arts techniques.

Embracing Accreditations

CrEd Kenya recently achieved a significant milestone by becoming an accredited Trinity College London examination centre for digital grades in Speech and Drama. This accreditation provides students with the opportunity to secure formal recognition for their drama education. By offering Trinity exams, CrEd Nairobi ensures that aspiring performers can showcase their skills and receive certifications that are internationally recognised.

Beyond the Stage

CrEd Nairobi’s commitment to the performing arts extends beyond traditional theatre. They have successfully transformed standard corporate training modules into unique, interactive, and engaging experiences through drama and performing arts techniques. This innovative approach allows trainees to fully immerse themselves in world-class training that they will never forget.

A Vision for the Future

Amar and Jinita’s vision is clear: to become the leading provider of drama, musical theatre, and corporate training services in Kenya and the wider East African region. Their ultimate goal is to empower individuals, enabling them to develop exemplary skills, lead happy and confident lives, and contribute to the growth of a sustainable creative economy in East Africa.
